Alpha Coal Supreme Court judgment to be delivered Friday, 4 September

03 September, 2015

Justice Douglas will deliver his judgement on Friday, 4 September 2015 at 9:30AM

In April this year, GVK Hancock and conservation group Coast and Country appeared in the Supreme Court of Queensland as Coast and Country challenged the 2014 Land Court of Queensland decision on the huge Alpha Coal Project in western Central Queensland’s Galilee Basin. The Supreme Court judicial review application, lodged by Coast and Country and supported by local farmers, argued that the Land Court should have recommended the 30 million tonne-per year mine be rejected outright. Justice Douglas will deliver his Honour’s judgment Friday, 4 September 2015 at 9:30AM, Court 15, Floor 5.
