In support of EDO’s work, Lady Elliot Island, Mt Barney Lodge, Lyn Graham, Glenda Orr, Daryl Dickson, Trevor Berrill, Jerry Coleby-Williams, QPAC, Perfect Potion, Juanita Williams, Copperface Jack’s and AVID Reader have generously donated items to be used Debate auction and raffle prizes!

These wonderful contributions range from $60 to $1,600 and include original artworks, day trips, accommodation packages, therapeutic services/products, dining experiences and much more.

Trip to Lady Elliot Island!Lady Elliot Island

Director Peter and Marketing Manager Amy Gash of Lady Elliot Island have generously donated a day trip for two including flights for auction. Bidding for this amazing prize starts at $1,598.

The lucky winner and a friend, will be flown from the Gold Coast to enjoy a day trip to explore Lady Elliot Island for 5 hours. Included in the day’s activities is a glass bottom boat and guided snorkel tour which provides expert commentary about the wonders of the underwater world and opportunities to meet the resident marine creatures of Great Barrier Reef. Subject to tide conditions, the winner will join a guided reef tour and feed fish in the lagoon fish pool. A hot and cold buffet lunch is served in the restaurant and includes a choice of wine, beer and soft drink.

3 night stay at Mt Barney Lodge

Mt Barney Lodge is located 90 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Scenic Rim next to the World Heritage-listed Mt Barney National Park - right at the base of Queensland’s most impressive peak – Mt Barney.

Indulge in a 3 night mid-week stay at Boolamoola Homestead for up to 6 guests. This property, once used for grazing cattle, is now a revegetated haven for birds, bandicoots, wallabies and other native animals. This package is valued at $1,260.

Wild, Wild Mangroves oil painting from local artist Lyn Graham

Local artist and EDO supporter Lyn Graham has generously donated her beautiful Wild, Wild Mangroves oil painting from her Pumicestone Passage collection.

“This was a very hot hazy day. The red in the mangroves tells you how hot it was. The seaweed on the sand was very dry and there was a strange red trailing plant in the foreground that barely looked like a plant.”

Moonlight Glider watercolour painting by Daryl Dickson

The talented Daryl Dickson, is self taught and has had no formal art training. Her medium of preference is watercolour but she also works, from time to time, in pencil, gouache and acrylic.

As a member of the Wildlife Artist Society of Australasia and the Queensland Wildlife Art Society, her passion for Australian wildlife is evident, with most works depicting the fine detail of Australia's beautiful and unique flora and fauna.

Bimblebox Branches print by Glenda Orr

Bimblebox Nature Refuge, in the Galilee Basin of central Queensland, is currently under threat from open cut coal mining. Glenda Orr has made a large number of works inspired by two artist retreats in 2012 & 2014 to this arid uplands woodland refuge. She hopes this artwork will help raise awareness of the beauty and rarity of the Bimblebox ecosystem.

Bimblebox Branches evolved from a lasting memory of looking up at the gorgeous textures, stark contrasts and intricate patterns that the overlapping branches of a stand of dead trees formed against the twilit sky at the two artist camps.

Twisted Sister print by Glenda Orr

Glenda Orr is an Australian artist, based in Brisbane, focusing on fine art printmaking, artist’s books and installation media. The etchings in The LOG Forest series are adapted from the personal photographs taken in various high conservation-value Australian forests and woodlands during environmental campaigns the artist was involved in since the late 1980s.

Twisted Sister is an iconic tree in the Upper Florentine Forest, which is about 100 km south of Hobart and was the site of an over five year environmental campaign.

Trevor Berrill is an award winning, private consultant in sustainable energy (SE) system design, education and training, and policy.  He has worked in both renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) for over 40 years, including system design and installation, research and development, technical training, public education and policy.

Win an in-home consultation with Trevor to discuss ways to improve the energy efficiency of the home and utilise solar PV energy. The consultation will be approximately 2 hours in duration and expires 30 June 2018.

Tour 'Bellis', the amazing and affordable sustainable garden of well-known Gardening Australia presenter, Jerry Coleby-Williams. Get a first-hand look at what can be achieved on a suburban block with average gardening skills. 'Bellis' has been retrofitted for sustainability. Jerry grows his own food, harvests rainwater and solar energy and treats and reuses wastewater.
