Qld’s Recycling and Waste Industry directions paper

05 June, 2018

The Transforming Queensland’s Recycling and Waste Industry directions paper, underpinned by the reintroduction of a waste levy, is open for public comment until June 28 2018.

The directions paper proposes that a general waste levy will commence in the first quarter of 2019 and will initially be set at $70 per tonne of general waste sent to landfill.

The Transforming Queensland’s Recycling and Waste Industry directions paper is available at www.qld.gov.au/wastestrategy with public comment open until 28 June 2018.

The reintroduction of a waste level was one of EDO Qld's key asks to the state government in September 2017.
